Privacy Statement

Privacy on our Web Site

CECU uses an integrated security system to protect our member’s account data from exposure to unauthorized persons. This system is a three-tiered security policy that governs all aspects of our online service. Each tier governs a unique aspect of our member’s online session and transactions with the Credit Union. These policies form a rigid security implementation that enables members to conduct business with the Credit Union via the Internet with an extremely high degree of security.

At no time does anyone from the outside world have access to the Credit Union’s database via the Internet. Any and all requests for data must pass through two distinct validation and control centers. Each request and answer is reviewed at each stop through the firewall. Additionally, any suspicious activity is terminated and causes an alarm.

For site security purposes and to insure this service remains available to all users, CECU employs software programs to monitor network traffic and to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

For site management, information is collected for statistical purposes through our web host. We collect the domain from which our member accesses the Internet and the site of origin. We use this information for internal analysis only, which helps us improve the content of our website.

Information sent by email is used only by our staff to handle our member’s request and to assure that we have adequately addressed the member’s inquiry and to handle their follow-up questions. We do not create individual profiles from the information the member provides.

Our Web Site contains links to other sites. CECU is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web Sites.

Availability of Policy

CECU is proud of its commitment to member confidentiality, and will make this policy available upon request. We distribute the policy to each new account. CECU will also post the policy on the credit union’s Internet web site.
