Business Membership
The credit union gladly accepts applications from area businesses that would like to offer the benefit of a credit union to their employees. Send us an email at staff@cecuknox.com. We will contact you about how easy it is to provide the benefit of membership in City Employees Credit Union to your staff.
Overview
We add new business groups to our field of membership on an ongoing basis. The process is simple and once completed all employees of a new business group are eligible to join. This makes a nice benefit for a business to offer its employees at no cost to the business. Simply moving a checking account to our credit union from an area bank can save an employee over $100 per year. Not to mention the amounts that can be saved by moving their loans to our credit union. In addition, to the employees of the business, family members of the employees may also join. Call us at (865) 824-7200. You may also e-mail any questions to staff@cecuknox.com.
CECU IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you request to open an account, we will ask for your full name including middle name, your physical address, date of birth, social security number or tax identification number, or other information that will allow us to identify you. We will require a photo identification issued by a government agency, which would typically be your driver’s license or Tennessee-issued identification card. To verify your social security number we need either your social security card or your W-2 and a check stub that shows your number.
CECU will also obtain a credit report prior to opening an account for you. Based on your credit rating, CECU may not offer you all of our services and products or may deny your account request. If you do not wish for CECU to obtain a credit rating, we will not be able to open an account for you.
